Can use natural products like vinegar and lemon juice to remove hard water stains on porcelain. If you are using vinegar then follow these steps: Mix vinegar and water in 1:3 ratio and spray it on the sink surface with stains.
Leave the mixture to sit for at least five minutes, then use a sponge to rub gently on the surface. After rubbing thoroughly finally, rinse the sink with soft water.
Apply baking soda on the stained portion of the sink. Baking soda has the power to remove the stain without creating scratches.
With a sponge, scrub the solution in a circular motion and rinse it without leaving any residue. Later dry the surface with a cloth.
Make the required paste and apply it over the stain. Let the mixture settle for 15 minutes and as soon as you notice the color-changing, wipe the surface and rinse it thoroughly with water. It is very crucial to wipe the area to prevent the resettling of a hard water stain.
Apply bleach on the sink and cover it with paper towels in the night. Nest morning, just remove paper towels and rinse it with water followed by drying the surface.
Before executing this method make sure that the room is ventilated to prevent the inhale of toxic bleach fumes. Always try this on white porcelain as bleach can remove the color of the porcelain.
Using acid for cleaning can dull the surface so it’s better to use lemon juice to remove the stain. First, apply salt over the surface and squeeze lemon juice on it. Scrub the mixture with the sponge and leave it for 15 minutes to get rid of all hard stains.
Repeat the same process if the stain is not removed completely. Don’t forget to dry the surface after rinsing with water.
Hydrogen peroxide is a cleaning agent used for colored porcelain. Compare to others, hydrogen peroxide requires more time to remove the stain completely.
Saturate a towel with hydrogen peroxide and cover it on the sink. Let it settle for 30 minutes and remove the paper towels carefully without leaking of hydrogen peroxide solution. Finally, rinse out the sink to see a clean surface.
Pumice stones are volcanic rocks and gentle abrasive to porcelain sinks. It is recommended only in extreme conditions since there is a risk of scratching. You can use pumice stone while cleaning a toilet bowl.
As soon as you are done using the faucet, try to wipe out the water with a cloth. With drying out the water on the sink there is less chance of forming stains. Have the practice of keeping cloth near each faucet.
Wipe out the vulnerable area with a natural cleaner at least five times a week. By doing this, your work will become easier when you clean later on.
After cleaning the sink thoroughly, add few drops of baby oil or lemon on an old cloth and use it to coat the surface. This prevents further sticking of the stain easily and adds great smell to the sink.
Apply a little bit of car wax on the sponge and coat it on the sink bowl. This prevents the surface from scratches and stain formation.
